UK's gloomy November: Some regions see zero sunlight while Scotland shines bright
England got just 100 minutes of sunshine in early-November due to unusual weather patterns‚ while Scotland enjoyed unexpected bright skies. Weather experts say the grey spell is about to end
Englandʼs start to November has been extra-dark with just one-hundred minutes of sun-time in the first ten days (which is way below normal levels for this time of year)
The weather pattern shows big differences across Britain: Northern-Ireland got 1.3 hours while Wales saw 1.6 hours of brightness‚ but Scotland – usually the cloudiest part – got a surprising 10-hour dose of sunshine
It has been a very dull month so far with some locations not seeing any sunshine at all but it is on the way from tomorrow
The weird weather comes from something called anti-cyclonic gloom – a high-pressure system thats been sitting over Britain for about two weeks. This system keeps moisture close to Earth making everything grey and foggy
Some unlucky places didnt see even one minute of sun including:
* Wittering
* Saint Helier
* Ronaldsway
* Odiham
* Liscombe
The tiny village of Kinloss near Inverness got lucky with 35 hours of sun-time; thats double what most UK places usually get. Met Office data shows the last real sunny day was mid-fall‚ but now the grey stuff is moving south and new high-pressure (without the fog trap) is coming – meaning some sunny breaks are on the way with temps staying around 10-12C
