Tech Tycoon Mike Lynch Missing After Yacht Sinks Off Sicily Coast
British entrepreneur Mike Lynch, recently acquitted of fraud charges in the US, is among those missing after his yacht sank near Sicily. The incident occurred just weeks after his legal victory.
Mike Lynch, the British technology entrepreneur often dubbed "Britain's Bill Gates," has gone missing following a yacht incident off the coast of Sicily. This unfortunate event occurred mere weeks after Lynch's unexpected legal triumph in San Francisco.
On August 19, 2024, Lynch's 56-meter yacht, Bayesian, sank near Palermo after encountering severe weather conditions. The vessel, named after the statistical field Lynch studied for his PhD at Cambridge, had a capacity for 12 guests and 10 crew members.
