Dutch crisis: Jewish people attacked in Amsterdam streets after football match
Anti-semitic mob forced Israeli fans to hide in Amsterdam hotels and jump into canals during recent sports event. Dutch King and Israeli President both spoke up about this shocking incident
In a disturbing turn-of-events last night Jewish people got chased through Amsterdamʼs streets by an aggressive crowd (showing how fast peace can turn into chaos)
Our country failed the Jewish community in WW2‚ and last night we failed again
The knife-carrying mob shouted pro-palestine slogans while Israeli sports-fans had to find shelter in nearby hotels; some even jumped into water-channels to save themselves. President Isaac Herzog called it an anti-semitic attack‚ making Israel send two rescue planes to get its people back home
This event shows a bigger issue: since the horrible attack about a month ago anti-jewish actions got more common in Europe. Similar problems happened in many places:
- Berlin street attacks
- Paris property damage
- London protest issues
Lord Walney‚ UKʼs advisor on political problems says Britain needs to watch-out for its Jewish peoples safety. He thinks words like “globalise the intifada“ shouldnt be allowed at protests
Western leaders need to stop using soft words and face the truth - this new anti-jewish thinking comes from islamist ideas; without accepting this fact nothing will change
