Law-enforcement officers have started world-wide search for Pankaj Lamba after discovering his wifeʼs body in east London. The remains of 24-year-old Harshita Brella were found in a carʼs trunk on 11/14/24 in Ilford; approximately 100 miles from her Corby home
A short-term protective order was put in place this fall (which lasted only 28 days) preventing a man from visiting the victim at her work-place. The order included restrictions on:
- threatening or molesting
- harassment and intimidation
- asking others to make contact
Chief Inspector Paul Cash stated: “Our investigation shows that Harshita was killed in Northamptonshire by her husband who then moved her body to Ilford; we think he has left the country“
Police got info about possible danger to Brella on 11/13 and checked her multi-occupancy house but couldnt get any answer. After quick-paced investigation they found her body next day in Brisbane rd. The post-mortem exam (done at Leicester Royal) confirmed it was murder
First of all I want to express my heartfelt condolences to everyone who loved Harshita Brella
The Independent Office for Police Conduct is now looking into previous contact between police and the victim — they will decide if further investigation is needed
