He evaded authorities initially but later surrendered to law enforcement on August 24. Solingen, a city renowned for its knife-making industry, now finds itself at the center of a national debate on immigration and security. According to federal police data, in 2023, out of 52,976 individuals slated for deportation, only 21,206 cases were successfully executed.
