A car accident near Haymarketʼs Angus Steakhouse sent three to hospital yesterday evening. A street map-post prevented the vehicle from hitting the restaurantʼs dining area

A late-evening car incident in Londonʼs busy Haymarket district left three people in hospital (the crash happened around 6-50pm on tuesday)

The vehicle jumped onto the side-walk near Angus Steakhouse; however a street-map post — known as a monolith — stopped its path before it could hit the dining area. Glass pieces scattered around the crash-site as crowds gathered to watch the scene unfold

The car came to a stop one metre before our restaurant; the ground was a bit slippery and the driver obviously lost control

The Met Police confirmed three people needed medical care:
* The cars driver
* One passenger
* A pedestrian on the street

London Ambulance Service sent a well-equipped team including air-medics and fast-response units to the scene. Two patients needed priority care at a nearby trauma facility; police say the crash isnt terror-related

Eye-witnesses described a crowded street scene when the accident happened — a loud crash sound made everyone stop in their tracks. The quick-thinking emergency teams worked fast to help those hurt in this rush-hour mishap
