Apple prepares to launch iPhone 16 models with new AI capabilities at its Glowtime event. The company will also introduce updated AirPods and Apple Watch, showcasing its latest technological advancements.

Apple is set to reveal its latest iPhone models at the annual Glowtime event in California today. The tech giant, which has sold over 2 billion iPhones since the device's introduction in 2007, aims to captivate consumers with cutting-edge artificial intelligence features.

The event, taking place at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, will showcase four new iPhone 16 models: the standard iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. These devices will be powered by the new A18 microchip processors, enabling enhanced AI capabilities.

Apple's new smartphones will incorporate a suite of AI tools known as Apple Intelligence, which is expected to be released next month. This software update will include an improved Siri digital assistant and various AI-powered applications for tasks such as email composition, blog post creation, and custom emoji design.

"This iPhone 16 release is all about Apple Intelligence and the unleashing of the consumer AI revolution."

Dan Ives, analyst at Wedbush Securities

The iPhone 16 models will feature screen sizes ranging from 6.1 to 6.9 inches, with the Pro versions slightly larger than their standard counterparts. A new "capture" button will be introduced, functioning similarly to a camera shutter button with additional touch and swipe capabilities.

Pricing for the new iPhones is anticipated to remain consistent with previous models, starting at $799 for the base iPhone 16. Pre-orders are expected to begin on September 13, with full availability commencing on September 20.

In addition to the iPhones, Apple will unveil new AirPods models, including the AirPods 4 and an updated version of the over-ear AirPods Max. The company will also introduce the Apple Watch X, featuring new health-focused capabilities and a streamlined design.

Apple's commitment to innovation extends beyond its products. The company has pledged to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire business by 2030, demonstrating its dedication to environmental sustainability.

Interested viewers can watch the Glowtime event live on Apple's website or YouTube channel, starting at 6 PM UK time. As the first company to reach a $3 trillion market capitalization in January 2022, Apple continues to push the boundaries of technology and consumer electronics.
