The suspect was apprehended shortly after on Bramingham Road, approximately three miles north of Luton town center. Assistant Chief Constable John Murphy stated that law enforcement is not currently seeking any additional suspects in connection with the incident.
Forensic teams were observed conducting searches in a nearby field, resulting in the recovery of a potential weapon. ACC Murphy clarified that while the incident was confined to the apartment block, the wider police cordon was established at the location of the arrest.
Residents of the Leabank high-rise shared their experiences of the morning's events. One resident, Davy Bridgestock, recounted:
"I woke up to my boys screaming in the morning. Looking out the window I saw police everywhere. I didn't know what to do, whether to leave the block of flats or not. It's pretty scary when you have kids in a block of flats."
