Princess of Wales Plans Christmas Carol Concert Amid Recovery

Catherine, Princess of Wales is taking steps towards resuming her royal duties, as evidenced by her involvement in planning the upcoming Christmas carol concert. This marks her second appearance in the Court Circular during her recovery period.

On Tuesday, 24 September 2024, the Princess held a meeting at Windsor Castle, focusing on preparations for her fourth annual Westminster Abbey carol concert. This event, which has become a cherished tradition in the royal calendar, is dedicated to children and their families.

The carol concert, typically attended by Prince William and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, is scheduled to be broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve. This tradition aligns with Westminster Abbey's long-standing royal connections, as it has been the coronation church since 1066 and has hosted 16 royal weddings since 1100.

The Princess's gradual return to public life is evident in her planned appearances. In addition to the carol concert, she hopes to attend the Remembrance service at the Cenotaph in November, health permitting. She was recently photographed in public for the first time since completing her treatment, attending church in Balmoral, Aberdeenshire, alongside King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
