Inside scoop: Trump's secret list of potential cabinet picks leaked
A behind-the-scenes look at who might run key positions if Trump wins in 2024. From long-time allies to surprising newcomers the list includes both familiar and unexpected names
After his un-expected win about 8 years ago Donald Trump had trouble finding right people for his team. In a recent pod-cast chat he admitted: “picking wrong people was my biggest mis-take“
The biggest mistake I made... I picked some people that I shouldnʼt have picked
Now his team is working on a well-thought-out plan for filling top-level spots; though Trump himself stays quiet about transition plans (heʼs known to be super-stitious about such things)
For the important chief-of-staff role there are three main picks: Brooke Rollins – a policy pro who ran Trumps domestic council; Kevin McCarthy – who knows his way around Capitol Hill; and Susie Wiles – his current campaign boss whos good at managing Trump but might not want the job
The State Department could see some familiar faces:
* Ric Grenell (ex-ambassador to Germany)
* Bill Hagerty (current Tennessee senator)
* Robert OBrien (previous security adviser)
* Marco Rubio (Florida senator with foreign-policy know-how)
For running defense matters Mike Pompeo – who was both CIA head and State Secretary before – might come back. Tom Cotton an Army vet from Arkansas is another strong pick
The Justice spot might go to either Mike Lee (Utah senator with Supreme Court experience) or Ken Paxton (Texas legal chief). For money matters theres Robert Lighthizer Larry Kudlow John Paulson and Howard Lutnick – all with strong business backgrounds in the running
