Famous faces run away from America: You won't believe where they're heading
Hollywood stars are picking strange new homes as they plan their exit from the United States. Their choices of destination countries show surprising contradictions in their political views
Rich hollywood stars dont seem to like whats happening in America these days – and their escape plans are quite eye-catching.
Sharon Stone is thinking about moving to Italy (which is pretty funny since she doesnt like right-wing politics): shes running away from what she calls “a platform of hate and oppression.“ The ironic part is that Italyʼs current leader is known for her strict views on immigration and traditional values
Eva Longoria has already split – dividing her time between Spain and Mexico‚ Even though she talks about US problems like homelessness and high-taxes its interesting to note that: Mexico has about 14-million homeless people; while Spainʼs tax rates are way-above American ones
The most head-scratching move comes from Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi who are planning to settle in Britainʼs Cotswolds region. Its quite strange – trading life in the worlds richest country for one thats now less wealthy than Mississippi (Americas poorest state). With DeGeneresʼ net-worth of around £360m though they probably wont notice the UKʼs public-service issues
The homelessness‚ the taxes – Americans are going to be stuck in this dystopian country
The whole situation brings up an interesting point about modern liberal activism. These self-proclaimed caring people who talk about:
- Compassion
- Empathy
- Kindness
Yet psychologists now use the term “dark-empath“ for those who seem caring but use these traits for their own goals. Its quite similar to how some activists use good-sounding words while doing not-so-good things
