Cyclist Assaulted by Van Passenger in Nottinghamshire, Police Seek Witnesses

In a concerning incident that occurred approximately six months ago, a cyclist in Nottinghamshire fell victim to an unprovoked assault while commuting to work. According to Nottinghamshire Police, the incident unfolded around 4 AM on March 9, 2024. Bike camera footage captured a silver Peugeot van approaching the cyclist. A passenger in the vehicle extended his arm out of the window, forcibly pushing the cyclist off his bicycle.
The victim sustained facial injuries, bruising to his arms and legs, and a swollen knee as a result of the assault. Additionally, his bicycle incurred damage, potentially leading to costly repairs or replacement.
Four days ago, on September 8, 2024, Nottinghamshire Police released the footage to the public, hoping to generate leads in their ongoing investigation. PC Jon Lingard of Nottinghamshire Police commented on the case:
"This was a nasty unprovoked assault on a man cycling to work. It's fortunate that he didn't sustain more serious injuries following this despicable random attack."
