Cope gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of ghost detective Marty Hopkirk in the ITV supernatural detective series "Randall And Hopkirk (Deceased)". The show, which originally aired from 1969 to 1970, featured Cope as a deceased investigator who continued to solve crimes from beyond the grave. His character was visible only to his partner Jeff Randall, played by Mike Pratt, after being murdered in the series' first episode.

The actor's career spanned several decades, showcasing his versatility across various mediums. Kenneth Cope appeared in 13 episodes of the long-running soap opera "Coronation Street" between 1961 and 2024, portraying the character Jed Stone.
