Police hunt for Land Rover driver after deadly e-bike crash in Derbyshire

A devastating night-time crash few days ago ended in tragedy when Alana Armstrong lost her life on Batley Lane‚ Pleasley; the 25-year-old mom was riding an e-bike with her companion

The incident happened when a dark-colored Land Rover Discovery (made somewhere between 04 and 08) followed two e-bikes through the village before ramming into them. The driver and passenger didnt stop after the crash – they just drove away towards New Houghton

My thoughts‚ as well as those of the whole force and community‚ are with them at this time

Chief Superintendent Dave Kirby stated

The second victim (a guy in his 20s) got really hurt – doctors had to cut-off his leg below-the-knee. Police think this wasnt just an accident: theyʼre treating it as a hit-and-run murder

  • Two people were arrested but later let go
  • The Land Rover was last seen on Rowthorne Lane
  • Cops are checking CCTV and doing house-to-house talks

The young mom left behind a 6-year old boy who wont get to spend holidays with his mother anymore. Police chief wants anyone with info to come forward: “If you were driving that car – weʼll find you anyway so its better to tell us what happened“
