Former MasterChef staff member exposes shocking behavior of famous TV host
A ex-production team member has brought forward new claims about BBC presenterʼs conduct during MasterChef filming. The allegations add to recent findings from a major news investigation
A former MasterChef crew-member has stepped forward with fresh accusations against Gregg Wallace‚ claiming he made anti-Asian comments during show production (this adds to already-existing complaints about his on-set conduct)
The staff member who worked on the show back in 2017 says Wallace made inappropriate noises and remarks when an Asian contestant wasnt present; their formal complaint to BBC describes multiple incidents of questionable behavior. The ex-employee didnt speak up earlier because of their junior position: “I found this very offensive but due to my position at the time I did not speak up with the fear of being treated differently“
The allegations made are deeply concerning
A recent four-month news probe revealed more than 20 staff-members accounts of Wallaceʼs conduct; including an incident where he allegedly made inappropriate gestures towards a junior employee. The TV-host has now stepped back from his role while Banijay UK (the shows production company) conducts a third-party investigation
Additional claims emerged on social-media when Dr Kate Tomas a former 2008 contestant shared her experience: she described incidents involving inappropriate accent imitation and criticism of cultural traditions. The BBC states they take such matters seriously; however they point out that external production companies handle direct contractor issues
