Russell Brand got into more legal trouble this fall: heʼs now charged with two speed-limit violations and didnt respond to police letters about them. The 49-year old star hired well-known traffic lawyer Nick Freeman (known as Mr-Loophole) to handle his case in court
The speed-camera caught Brands Mini going 37 in a 30-zone near his fancy £3.7 million house in Henley-on-Thames; police sent notice to his address but got no answer back. The case went to court in mid-fall but no pleas were entered — its now moving to open court hearings
In a separate on-going matter police finished questioning Brand about historical accusations: they talked to him three times and sent all evidence to prosecutors. The case covers events from his peak-fame years (around 15 years ago) when he worked at big TV networks
These allegations are very very painful for me
The investigation started after media reports came out last year; several women contacted police with their stories. The Crown Prosecution Service got the file and now needs to decide if theyʼll charge the entertainer with any crimes. Brand keeps saying he did nothing wrong but investigators are looking into claims about controlling and bad behavior from his past
